Views: C+/C-: Green Darkly.
The River Severn, in serene mode, no waves and
no craft.

Green Glass Darkly
Seeing my world through a green grass darkly. ( 1)
A pampered inmate in a half-made routine.
That which was natural is now unnatural.
Birds, Bees, and Butterflies invade my hearing;
until reality breaks through.
My space and recreation are now restricted;
as I loop in a turnwise and widdershins manner (2 )
my garden perimeter.
But inside I find comfort and warmth within
my family circle.
Time is becoming a construct, as moments
begat longer moments and swim into
weeks.
Where am I in my sports-deprived calendar?
Days follow sleep with no real significance .
The virus has kick-started a virtual process as
we move to an online presence of virtual
offices;conferences ; gyms; churches and so
on.
Our lives are now determined by the gods
of Broadband and WiFi.
The third age is upon us; a gesture and
subscription affair, moderated by credit
card scores.
Today, the first of May, I remembered
to wake up my trees, to wish them (3 )
a good crop of fruit and health, as is
the custom here in Gloucestershire.
Afterward the trees nodded their
branches in appreciation and
the sun shone brightly. It was
a good cherished moment.
(1) Line borrowed from " A Scanner Darkly " 1977 by
Philip K. Dick.
(2) Turns taken from Terry Pratchett's " Discworld Series ". They
describe the directions from the surface of the giant disc. I
used them to add to the general confusion of these times.
(3) The waking up verse following tree hugging goes: "Bear well
and wake up in the morning! " With loud acclaim .

Finally here are some flower photographs

In these difficult times we cannot physically embrace our friends;
instead, let's embrace one another with words.
