Rhossili Rhapsody: Admiral's Advice: Powis Promenade.

Royal rock enclose the confines of the bay.
Hewn from stone, steps lead downwards to the sand.
Over this visceral tactile landscape
Siblant surf approaches
Steadily.
Infilling the foreshore and
Leading the tidal flow
In an eternal two-step dance,  curated by moonshine.

Rhossili Fact File

Rossilli is situated in south Wales on the Gower coast.

In Trip Advisor  Travellers' Choice 2013, Rhossili  was voted first in U.K.; third in Europe; and tenth in the top twenty five world beaches.

Sunsets from Rhossilli are the seventh most photographed in the world.

Over a million visitors come to Gower to view the quality of its landscape.

It is now threatened by an Atlantic Array of wind turbines !

No turbines here!

What a shame that would be.

D. and I have had a little Welsh interlude; last week visiting Rhossili in the south and the week before Powis Castle in the north.

Regarding Powis, here are the words from the National Trust handbook.

" The world famous garden, overhung with clipped yews, shelters rare and tender plants.
Laid out under the influence of Italian and French styles, it retains its original lead statues and an orangery on the terraces.
High on a rock above the terraces, the castle, originally built C. 1200, began life as a medieval fortress.
Remodelled and embellished over more than 400 tears, it reflects the changing fortunes and ambitions of the Herbert family. "    Powis

Here are some photos for you, which show some of its many delights.

Wales was very kind to us and we saw both locations in the best possible conditions.
