League1 and League 2 Football Predictions: 3 pieces: Angels.

League One Predictions

 1 Portsmouth

 2 Lincoln City

 3 Sunderland

 Portsmouth should be better than
this League. The large Pompey fanbase
should ring those bells and climb 
into the Championship.

 The Cowley Brothers who have
coached Lincoln up into League 1
 continue to amaze and one feels, 
they are not finished yet.Their dedicated 
and growing fans should see Lincoln City
 grab a second successive promotion spot.

 I thought Sunderland were a certainty last
season to advance from this League,
They made the play-offs, but lost 0-1
Charlton in the Final. They will surely
make amends in 2020.
League Two Predictions

 1 Salford City

2  Leyton Orient

3  Plymouth


Salford City, propelled
by ex Man.Utd players
financial support have
risen through the lower
leagues into League 2
and are probably with
this momentum ready
to take higher honours.

 Leyton Orient, who dropped
through the leagues like a
stone, are back up again. They
have found their mojo and
realising their heritage, should
confidently move forward.

 Plymouth are much better 
than this League. Upward and
forward please.

with a swagger;
showing supreme
self-confidence.
Spoke with conviction.
No amusing lines;
instead punching  out
a provocative opening.
 Pure chutzpah.
But afterward an
upset person is
offended by the
speaker.
Calling it unworthy
and shameless.
It was a case of 
unpleasant chutzpah.

Last Monday ( 12/08/'19 )  d. and I  went on a coach trip to the Palace of Westminster in London . After a lengthy airport-type security check we were ushered into the main hall, one of the few places where photography is allowed.



    
 Looking up at the ceiling we noticed some beautiful, individually carved wooden Angels, projected at an angle from the ceiling's side.

Each Angel, we were informed bore the special mark of the carver.

After a short delay, our party was split up into two and our guides showed us around the various rooms. We visited both of the parliamentary  houses, Lords and Commons.
The House of Commons seemed to us, very compact in size.Winston Churchill, apparently decried that the chamber should not be enlarged to accommodate  all of the six hundred plus Members and so it remains a very adversarial debating place.
We learned, that before any business took place in the House, prayers were said. Thank the Lord for that !

It was a very engrossing and enjoyable visit, which included an excellent  talk by our M.P. for Cheltenham, Alex Chalk.

Tuesday Glory: Spring is Coming

When Tuesdays are glorious; the birds sing; the sun shines; the bright colours come out to play and all is well with the world. Such a day was Tuesday, February 8th, at eleven  'o ' clock, when I fetched up at the Sherborne National Trust Estate. This sign looked promising, but as I made my way out of the car park and into the woodland, no snowdrops were to be seen. But although the woods were still sleeping in the shade, some catkins were  in view. Reaching the road and turning right, I soon came by the nature reserve, with its gentle meandering stream. When I reached the nearby church, I beheld  my first snowdrops; a wonderful domesticated array of white, interspersed with yellow crocus. My route then took me, from the road, back into the estate. Here, through the effect of the sun shining on the ground; were further miracles before me as I walked back to the car.   A selection of images for you. All that was left to complete this excelle

Toys for the Boys

Visited Snowshill Manor,near Broadway today. I noticed near the Restaurant, an unusual replica wind toy, with back-up electric motor. Snowshill Manor houses the amazing collection of Mr. Charles Wade, with over 22,000 objects; including toys. Above is the original toy model, suspended from the ceiling in the attic of the Manor. The replica was built by volunteer Barry Silcock and took over seven years to construct. Although, it has been up for a season, it still has problems when the wind gets up, and conversely, when the wind dies, it needs a heavier  weight to start the electric motor up. It still looks mighty impressive though. As interesting as the Wade collection is;  I prefer the Manor Garden with  many arresting borders.
