Season's End: Wise Words:Poem

Image
Season's End Now we come to the season's end. The passion of Summer has fallen  away. Before the Winter's cold begins descending; gentle Autumn will hold her sway. From green to brown, from blue to grey. From chinos to cords; from panama to fedora . The days shorten and do not stay. In sunlight the golden leaves effect an aura. What mortal tale does mother  nature fortell? Dying in glory and pausing 'till Spring doth amend. An eternal circle causing our hopes to swell. Perhaps for all,   there will be, no season's end . Ck 25/09/'20 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁 Wise Words. Sojourner:Wise Words:Poem

Image
Sojourner Like a mountain stream,  my years cascade by as   I watch seasons with increased momentum, dissolve around me. The ageing process marks  my stay here. Its lines and defects are compensated by memories from my past life; ever sharper the further back I probe. I hope to tarry a little longer  as m y pneuma is still strong and although pathways are often strewn with garbage and  misdirection, I struggle onwards to  reach the eternal goal and complete life's circle. Ck. 03/09/'20 📰📰📰📰 Wise Words.  " They say, as you gain a certain vintage, time sheds its boots and puts on trainers." 'The Major.' 📰📰📰📰   This Holly Tree  was covered in berries. Are we in for a hard winter, as the sages say? A final roll of the die from 2020. We shall see. WiFi for now, Ck.

Pneuma: Wise Words

Image
Pneuma The summit is  lower, the hill has less gradient. Rough ground  a trial,   needing  a firm push  on the   walker   to attain forward motion. Yet my desire has not wavered. Locomotion may be slower, but the peaks remain in my mind. Within me my pneuma is strong. The branch bows towards the earth; but the trunk is strong and weathers the hurt awaiting new growth. In the stream the level  has fallen, but the spirit is unquenched, knowing precipation will restore the flow. Breathing hard and blown by winds we continue on our paths, following the light to that final sunset. A Few Words: River Severn. Football Analysis

Image
A Few Words A few words.  make big pictures  Big pictures can be  sliced and framed, Into motion video. Video needs sounds. Sounds can make music.  Music and video can inspire  Films. Films need a few words  of explanation. 📓📓📓📓📓📓 Rising in the mountains Inspiring painters and poets Very strong currents Enveloping, at times the River bank. Sinuous and serpentine Each bend and curve; becoming  more Voluptuous as the Lady River Enters her  last passage and Returns to the sea  Necessary for ensuring tidal flow. River  Severn  08/08/'20. 📓📓📓📓📓📓 With the new football season only five weeks away ( can you believe it ? ) Thought i'd better look at last year's predictions. Worms Head: Major Recovery

Image
Worms Head ( Gower Coast south Wales.) Regal rocks guard the bay. Steep steps lead the walker  downwards. Reaching the sandy, visceral beach. Siblant surf approaches. Steadily infilling the foreshore and leading the tidal flow in an eternal ceilidh dance; curated by moonshine. Seven years pass. The pathway and my gait  become uncertain both  in  delivery  and purpose. Worn away by storms and my deteriorating starboard  pin. I remember the grandeur of the bay and the space on the sand to sit and ponder and even write down a few lines in the Welsh sunshine. 😞😞😞😞😞😞 CK Written on this Gower beach 03/09/'13.         Updated 05/08/'20 Hello Everyone , From Major Wynford- Clarke. Reaching into my  trusty almanac, I discovered  my last posting was incredibly  over two and  half years ago.  Methinks old Father Tyme, has not only cast  off his army boots; but has changed them for running shoes and has ...

covid 19 re-imagined

Image
Covid 19.2.1 I view my world through a green glass Darkly. That, which was natural is now unnatural. Only Nature and the passage of the seasons, Reveals an eternal hope. We live in an online odyssey as Seemingly , the output of our Lives have been transmitted by The dictates of our computer  The third age is surely upon us; A gesture and subscription affair, Moderated by our credit card scores. In this partial lockdown scenario, Time has become a construct, As moments begat longer moments And swim into weeks. Days follow sleep.  The calendar is broken. A quiet interlude only Nature finds Purpose and movies forward with dignity. Much has changed; yet little has Changed, as the present and past Begin to overlap. And Planet Earth pauses to take breath.    Requiem Corona Sunset. Future times brings time- travel. Many years to choose a-plenty. But please don’t go back to 2020 where it all begins to slowly unravel We stood apart for two...

Saved by Nature, but 'Plane Crazy

Image
Plane crazy. Yawning clouds float in lazy postures, Revealing azure blue skies. The night workers have gone away and Nature, full of mischief opens up the Day shift. Bees go on lavender spasms, whilst butterflies pirouette and dance  in balletic displays. Roses twist and whisper in the light breeze. Fruit soak up the solar rays, primed for  ripening later on the trees. The garden, in supine mood is at peace. But hark! What is that threatening drone That invades ? An aerial attack that buzzes, poisoning The air and like a monster speaker system Dictating its own unwanted noise concerto. Low they swoop in mindless circuits, Creating stress by their unholy presence.. Serenity is a right, not something  To be earned.  Please be considerate. Hope you are staying safe; keeping modestly fit and enjoying the Summer. The Abbey...
