Premier League Winners: More Moonshine: Point of View

On my last blog, I gave my football predictions for the Championship; League 1 and League 2
This week I look at the Premier League, which started today, 10th August 2018 A.D.

1  Manchester City      4/6

2  Liverpool                 4/1

3  Manchester United    8/1

4  Chelsea                     14/1

The only certainty is that Manchester City will win the league again. They will not  drop twenty five points in order to facilitate a challenge  to their title. They have the strongest squad in the league with at least two quality players for each position. Team morale is excellent. Enough said.

Liverpool should prove their strongest challenge. Klopp has strengthened the team with some good signings, including a top goalkeeper. They should be capable of more wins and less draws this season. I feel, however that the two Manchesters will once again prove their nemesis and lose them points. I hope Klopp will manage to win a cup and break his jinx of never, ever winning anything.

Manchester United will once again play, for the most part, a turgid, boring style of play, scoring few goals but creating multiple wins.
Cup victories beckon again.

Chelsea with a new manager should come ' fast out of the blocks ' and in so doing, establish an early points total . However, in the traditional curtain raiser to the season, the Charity Shield, they were outplayed and outclassed by Manchester City. A good wake-up call.
Chelsea's next match against Arsenal should give a good indication of their performance level to date. Sure to take points from many teams.

As I pointed out in my last blog, on July 27th 2018, there was a reunion  at "Smokey Joe's Cafe"  for former members of the Blue Moon Club  (1965- 7).
I attended, but didn't recognise anyone there.
However I was able to take some photos  from the memorbilia assembled there, which  helped to jog my memory as to the names of some of the acts whom we saw.

As you can see,  an impressive line-up, including The Who; The Cream; Jimi Hendrix; Rod Stewart; ( then a member of "The Steam Packet "with Julie Driscoll and Brian Augur) Graham Bond and John Lee's Groundhogs.

We watched this galaxy of stars for a few pounds a time, which we paid for on the door. To gain access to this club, one ventured through a door at 170, High Street, Cheltenham and then climbed two flights of  stairs to the medium sized space which had a small bar and performing area.
I am pretty certain, all of the artists, together with their instruments and gear had to use this same entrance. Imagine that!

How different from todays sky-high ticket prices, and large arena stadiums, when, then we just turned up and saw the top stars week, after week. That they should visit a provincial town for virtually little money beggars belief.
How lucky we were.

My last photograph is of the black R' n' B star Lee Dorsey, whose chart hits included " Working in A Coal Mine ;" Holy Cow " and "Ride Your Pony."
I saw him twice and he went done a storm, especially with 'The Mods " in the audience.
Carefree and naive those days may have been, but I wouldn't have missed them for the worlds.

To finish , here is a panoramic view, which I took last Wednesday 08/08/'18 at Coaley Peak Viewpoint, near Dursley.
